Very good book in regards to money management on Craps.

I've read many books on Craps. This is the one that turned my Craps play around many years ago and made me a winner overall. There's quite a few books from other authors that to me are just junk, and I'm serious. I won't go naming names, but just be aware if you are into learning this game. The key to take from this book is about money management. It's about how to increase your bets while winning and protect your money. I was already many years into playing before I read this book and already was aware of the different bets. Many books will give you the basics of playing pass line with odds and taking come bets with odds or making place bets. My problem was I never knew how to handle a roll that was profitable. This book gave me ideals on ways to increase my bets in a proper way in such that I would protect profits and still push for even more. What I learned from here and some other books is that you can't win every time you put money down as the odds are against you in the long run. It's about taking advantage of when it's going your way. It also taught me to not put money on every roller.
I wish the author came up with something more to handle multiple odds more so than the single and double odds that he emphasized, but he wrote this book many years ago. I used to be a come bettor and he prefers that over place bets, but I have mainly turned into a pass line and place bettor.
To me, this is a very good book to get to learn to try to stay out of most shooters' rolls and take advantage of extended rolls and protect your bankroll. It's not the most fun thing to stay out most rolls but it's not fun losing. By keeping me out of more rolls I have been able to wait out potential good to monster rolls and come out a winner more. By playing every roller before it meant more making up for all the losing rolls prior to.

Fascinating read.

If you are a beginning craps player, there are probably better books to read; and I am not sure Sam is always right in what he says, but: I have one of the original editions of this book and it reads like you were having a personal conversation with Sam. The writing is completely without modern editing that makes most books on gaming read like they were all written by the same person and is worth reading solely for it unusual style (having not seen the current edition, I cannot vouch that it has not had Sam's personality edited out of it, hopefully, it has not.) While it is not the only book that taught me about playing bank craps, it made me feel the soul of a professional craps shooter and provided me with real street knowledge to use at the craps tables. You must have a sound mathematically understanding to play craps but you also must have a practical guide to its application. That's what Sam provides. Read it and you will feel like you have met Sam and understand his personality. In a very odd way, it may be a minor literary masterpiece

The best book on Craps

First, Sam Grafstein's book has made me more money at the tables than any other book including Scolbete, Patrick and all the others combined. If you know anything about Craps - then make sure you learn the correct way to gamble. The Grafstein manuscript is proven to take down the house when the dice turn warm - he writes and explains his plays and teaches methods of money management at the table. The best book on Craps bar none.
